No. We recommend teaming with independent contractors, ABCS organizations, or JCI branches for Metasys expertise, Here’s why. My personal background is networking/telecommunications, system integration, and software engineering. Our training and support reflects this. We primarily focus on how our product works and how it integrates into the Metasys system. We certainly understand the Metasys system architecture, the protocols, and how to use the Metasys utilities to set up tests in our lab for development testing, QA, and customer demos. However, we do not advise our customers how to program and commission the Metasys field devices, or supervisory controllers, in production installations.

Yes, I worked for JCI at their corporate HQ for 5 years. The focus while I was there was applying the above networking, telecommunications, and system integration skills to large enterprise-size installations of Metasys. Most of the focus was in the Telecommunications and Hospitality marketplaces. I also was involved in managing relationships with 3rd parties who wanted to integrate into Metasys.

Again, to make sure that there are no missed expectations. I do not have field experience or formal training on the JCI field devices or supervisory controllers. So, It would not be fair to you if I tried to go too far into the installation, programming, and commissioning of the Metasys field devices. I’ll point you to the Metasys utilities used and the mechanics, give you the opportunity to get some hands on experience using them in our lab, but stop short of actually going into the design and commissioning process in live environments. We can refer you to people and organizations you might want to team with, when necessary.

When you visit our lab you will see that very few of the N2 devices in the lab are connected to sensors and that there is no mechanical systems in the lab. Our focus has been integration into Metasys, the details of the protocols involved, and the interaction between systems involved in the integration process. You’ll see that we have most BAS manufacturer head end products in the lab to perform interoperability testing and guarantee the support level that we can provide to mutual customers.
