information of a device should be available to OPC-Clients. The
SNMP-OPC Gateway has a flexible mechanism to manage these Device
Profiles: You can download Device Profiles for the most common devices from our web-site or, if necessary, you can easily create your own Device Profile. And the best: You don't need to know anything about SNMP, the Device Profiles hide you from all the technology. |
The Obermeier Software MIB Browser is the tool to create Device Profiles from SNMP MIBs. A very clean one-to-one mapping of the SNMP variables and Traps into OPC Process Points and A&E Transactions means that you can transparently treat SNMP devices just like any other device being managed and monitored by your automation system.
