SNMP-OPC Server Service Pack
Available
Service pack 3.04 (build 287) is
available for the SNMP-OPC Server and OPC Server for SNMP. This service pack
fixes a problem with handling large numbers of "Connected" variables. Connected
variables use the TCP/IP ICMP protocol instead of SNMP. Logically, the
"Connected" variable is implementing an automated TCP/IP PING command within the
SNMP-OPC Server.
The symptoms of the problem are
that over time performance degrades and eventually the system stops responding.
This only happens when a large number of "Connected" points are in your
configuration. Only a small number of installations using the "Connected"
variable have been effected by this problem so it may, or may not, be happening
with your installation.
Visit the S4 Group
Support Area to download and
install the service pack. Service pack 3.04 MUST be installed on top of a
previously installed SNMP-OPC Server or OPC Server for SNMP installation. |
